Generally speaking the region of Chonburi can be regarded as a golfer's paradise. Golf enthusiasts from all over the world come to Thailand every year to spend their holidays in Pattaya and its surroundings. In a radius of not more than 50 kilometres around the town there are more than twenty courses of international standard, some of which were designed by golf champions like Jack Nicklaus, Desmond Muirhead or Nick Faldo. In the years 2010 and 2011 the Siam Country Club and the Siam Plantation were the venues for the Honda LPGA tournaments. The entire world elite of female golfers was present, and the ladies had a good opportunity to experience themselves how superb these golf courses are.
